The 2019 SEMES National Congress of Emergency Medical Services took place at Girona Congress Palace on June 5-7.

Congress organisers American Express Events commissioned Servicios Audiovisuales Área Técnica to handle technical coordination and audiovisual management of the event, which was attended by more than 2,000 delegates.

The great challenge in this commission was to manage more than 20 rooms operating simultaneously.

For this project, our IT Department decided to set up a technical secretariat connected by Internet and Wi-fi to each of the rooms used during the congress. This gave our technical staff instant access to all the speakers’ presentations in real time, enabling us to cope with the complex programme of activities at an event of this nature.

Besides these rooms, AMEX also commissioned us to manage the auditorium, which seats 800, and the other two main congress venues, seating 300 and 150. We successfully provided technical management and video systems in these spaces.

Finally, we produced the lighting at the gala dinner to mark the end of the congress, held at La Devesa in Girona. On this occasion, we installed our @Airstar balloons.

The Technical Department deployed more than 30 technicians, who took charge of video, sound, lighting, live production, audiovisual production and edition.
